Final Aim, a Web3 startup from Japan, is selected by global accelerator


On September 15, 2022, Final Aim, a Web3 startup from Japan, announced that it has been selected by Berkeley SkyDeck, a global startup accelerator from the UC Berkeley.

Final Aim is a startup with a global Web3 business focused on the design and digital manufacturing sector. In november 2021, the company announced the beta version of its own Web3 platform, Final Chain. And, they established a U.S. corporation in order to strengthen its technology and considering global expansion, funding environment, legal and taxation environment.

Final Aim was founded by Masafumi Asakura, who worked at Mizuho Bank, Recruit Career, and as CEO of a HR company in Singapore and COO of 3D printing and ML startup. Asakura is also a venture partner and HR specialist at UTEC, University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners, which is a Japan's leading venture capital firms.

Final Aim is currently working with Panasonic, Autodesk Inc., Ultimaker Inc., and Eyemetrics Japan to implement the Web3 platform in demonstration tests and in practice. In August 2022, Sony Design Consulting and Web3 will launch an IC card-type hardware wallet, developed based on the knowledge of Sony's contactless IC card technology "FeliCa," which has been cultivated over many years, and a new product, the "Web3 Platform.


Berkeley SkyDeck has a strong track record in supporting university-launched startups and deep tech startups with its connections to UC Barkeley's talent, excellent environment, resources, and networks, and has produced a number of high-profile technology startups around the world. The 4-month startup development program will be conducted in a hybrid format, both onsite in the U.S. and online, and plans to accept interns from the university. At the end of the program, a demo day will be held with the participation of over 100 investors and venture capitalists.
