WebPass is a new standard that realizes a domain-based identity network that can identify individuals (characters) throughout the Web.

Since the poster can be identified on the entire web, it is possible to notify the poster's followers of the post, notify the poster of the reply, and view the poster's behavior history.

We named it Web Passport because it is an ID that can be used throughout the Web.

The web service "hitois", which was conceived by Satoru Nakamura, the representative of kinois, and is also developed and operated by kinois, is being developed to the stage where it can be put into actual operation as the first WebPass ID issuance service.


WebPassは、Web全体で個人（キャラクター）を識別できる、ドメインベースのIDネットワークを実現する新しい規格です。

Web全体で投稿主を識別出来るため、投稿主のフォロワーに対して投稿を通知したり、返信を投稿主に通知したり、投稿主の行動履歴を閲覧したりすることが出来ます。

Web全体で利用できるIDであるため、Web Passport（ウェブパスポート）と名付けました。

kinois（キノイス）の代表である中村智が発案し、同じくkinoisが開発・運営するWebサービス「hitois（ヒトイス）」を最初のWebPass ID発行サービスとして、実運用可能な段階まで開発が進んでいます。

WebPass

It has a mechanism for easily linking data distributed on the Web to individual ID (WebPass ID). Copyright information, work information, and work-related information can be easily and automatically aggregated and published as a single piece of data. However, since automatic collection requires cooperation, the target is limited. (No restrictions when combined with WebPass.)

For example, if a photo posted to a community has a comment attached to it, and that photo is also posted to your own blog, you can view the comment from the community on your blog.

For example, if a video posted to a community has comments and you post the video to your own blog, the comments from the community can be viewed on your blog. 
 
Also, if you post a comment on a video on that blog, that comment will also be reflected in the community.</li>

This function allows hitois users to issue and sell their own fan tokens on hitois. 
Fan Tokens use the Ethereum blockchain. 
 
Fans who have fan tokens can use special benefits provided by hitois users. 
 
The purpose is to increase the number of fans using hitois and to raise funds when starting a business. 
 
Fan Tokens can be bought and sold in virtual currency and can be resold to other fans like membership rights.</li>

This is a standard that enables a WebPass ID, which is a domain format, to be obtained from a handwritten signature using a camera such as a smartphone. 
 
For example, if you scan the signature displayed in the corner of a photo, painting, or video with a smartphone camera, you can access the site (personal portal site on hitois) of the owner of that signature (author of the photo, painting, or video), or You can display the basic information of them. 
 
A "WebPass Signature printer" is also planned. 
With a small portable printer, you can use a smartphone app to output a scannable signature on paper. 
 
If you print your signature on documents such as contracts with the "WebPass Signature Printer", the other party will be able to scan it with a smartphone and verify your identity.

This is a standard development plan that enables the use of purchased digital data in any service or space that supports WebPass. 
 
For example, digital data (clothes, etc.) purchased at one online shop can be brought to another Metaverse and used (for example, worn). 
 
Also, items purchased in one Metaverse can be used in another Metaverse. 
 
The owner of the item is verified by WebPass, and the storage location (WebPass Stock) is a WebPass service such as hitois. 
 
* WebPass Portable requires the creation of a standard that enables sharing of possessed items with web services, sites, Metaverses, etc., and we believe that standardization between Metaverses is particularly important, which is a time-consuming task. <h2>The future Metaverse that Kinois thinks about</h2>
The current Metaverse is a centralized one provided by large companies, but I imagine that in the future even small and medium-sized companies and individuals will be able to design and publish their own metaverses (utilization of open source Metaverses). 
 
In other words, you will be able to publish your own Metaverse in the same way as a website. 
 
The address of the Kinois website is "https://www.kinois.net", but for example, an address such as "https://meta.kinois.net" can be used to publish a Metaverse that introduces Kinois services. 
 
WebPass will be a common ID that can be used across various metaverses. 
 
And with WebPass, users can bring their belongings, money, etc. to various metaverses and use them. 
 
For example, in the case of an automobile manufacturer, the digital data of a sports car is first sold, and then the car is actually driven on circuits around the world and in the metaverse of towns. 
 
Automakers can expect to reduce risks and costs in new car development by making improvements based on feedback from users and using it to sell actual cars.

また、あるメタバースで購入したアイテムを、別のメタバースでも使用できるようになります。 
 
アイテムの持ち主はWebPassで証明され、保存場所（WebPass Stock）はhitoisなどのWebPassサービスになります。 
 
※ WebPass Portableは、Webサービスやサイト、メタバースなどで所持アイテムを共有できるようにする標準規格の作成が必要であり、特にメタバース間の標準化が重要であると考えていて、時間がかかる作業となる見込みです。標準化のための動きは2023年を待たずに開始する計画です。</li>

<h2>キノイスが考えるこれからのメタバース</h2>
現在のメタバースは、大企業が提供する中央集権的なものですが、今後は、中小企業や個人でも独自のメタバースを設計し、公開できるようになると想像しています（オープンソースメタバースの活用）。 
 
つまり、Webサイトと同じ感覚で、自身のメタバースを公開できるようになります。 
 
キノイスのWebサイトのアドレスは「https://www.kinois.net」ですが、例えば「https://meta.kinois.net」のようなアドレスで、キノイスのサービスを紹介するメタバースを公開するといったことが出来るようになります。 
 
WebPassは、乱立する様々なメタバース間で使用できる共通のIDとなります。 
 
そして、WebPassを用いれば、ユーザーは自分の持ち物やお金などを、様々なメタバースに持ち込み、使用できるようになります。 
 
例えば自動車メーカーの場合、最初にスポーツカーのデジタルデータを販売し、実際に世界中のサーキットや町のメタバースで走ってもらい、フィードバックをもらった上で改良し、実車の販売につなげるなど、新車開発におけるリスク低減やコスト低減が期待できます。

<h2>WebPass does not deny anonymity culture</h2>
WebPass IDs are domain-based and do not force IDs to be associated with personal information such as real name or gender. 
 
The domain of the WebPass ID is the address of the portal site of the owner of the ID, but it is not necessary to operate the portal site under the real name, and it is possible to operate it with a nickname. 
 
Your profile picture or image can also be an avatar or logo. 
 
What WebPass achieves is to guarantee that the subjects of activities on the Web (contributors, etc.) are the same person. 
 
In addition, by arranging the activities of the same person in chronological order as a log and making it possible to view it anywhere immediately, it forms a rough character of that person. 
 
In other words, your WebPass ID is your avatar, your character, and when it starts to have value, it becomes your brand.
 
<h2>Specifically</h2>
For example, the WebPass ID of "Satoru Nakamura", who invented WebPass, is "<a href="https://satorun.hitois.net" target="_blank">satorun.hitois.net</a>", but the item for the name "Satoru Nakamura" can be the nickname "Satorun".
 
You can hide your real name "Satoru Nakamura" and work as "Satorun". 
 
When posting in various posting spaces on the Web using the WebPass ID "satorun.hitois.net", the poster is guaranteed to be "Satorun (satorun.hitois.net)". 
 
As a result, a chronological log of "Satorun (satorun.hitois.net)" activities on the web will be created and published. 
 
"Satorun (satorun.hitois.net)" is an entrepreneur, engineer, inventor and developer of "WebPass". 
These facts become the character of "Satorun (satorun.hitois.net)". 
 
And if the achievement is recognized, "Satorun (satorun.hitois.net)" will become a brand. 
 
Since my nickname is "Satorun", You may not feel very anonymous. But if you act with a name that is less real, it will be established as "anonymous".

<h2>"Brand" for business</h2>
I mentioned earlier that when a WebPass ID becomes valuable, it becomes a brand. 
 
In other words, using a WebPass ID means using your brand name. 
 
It's easy to imagine that your brand is important to your business. 
 
When your WebPass ID has the value of a brand, it will have the character of a corporation. 
 
When you use that WebPass ID to carry out activities, even if it is used with something that cannot identify you, such as a nickname, the brand becomes responsible. 
 
That's a business advantage, but it also discourages irresponsible behavior.
 
<h2>There is no responsibility for "anonymity" that has no reality</h2>
Since the Internet is a cyber domain, the reality is that it is possible for "anonymous" users who do not even exist to speak out. 
 
An anonymous user has no accountability and therefore cannot be held responsible. 
However, just because they are not responsible, is it okay to allow them to make irresponsible remarks by claiming that they have no responsibility? 
 
The web is a public space, and irresponsible remarks are not allowed there, especially irresponsible remarks that attack others. 
 
If you insist on "freedom of expression", you need to be responsible for what you say. 
 
Even on the Web, we must not allow "freedom of expression" to be irresponsible. 
Allowing that would turn the web into a complete lawless land.
 
<h2>We do not force WebPass</h2>
However, I don't mean to say that you need a WebPass to speak on the Web. 
 
I'm not thinking of disallowing "anonymously without substance" posting as before on services that do not require user registration, such as bulletin boards. 
 
However, if WebPass is applied to the Web, where anyone can act "anonymously without substance" as in the past, "anonymously with substance" will permeate, and the credibility of posting "anonymously without substance" will decrease. 
 
The words of those who are responsible and take responsibility for what they say carry more weight and credibility.
